2020 Mississippi Medical Cannabis Ballot
In March of 2019, the Mississippi Legislature adjourned without making any progress on the multiple cannabis reform bills introduced by the Senate and House.
Fortunately, there are advocates that have a different idea to change the harmful laws on marijuana in Mississippi.
Last year, Compassionate Care members filed a ballot in order to make medical cannabis legal for the residents of Mississippi.
The plan is to bring this amendment to the state so that voters can help make this possible in 2020.
The deadline just passed on September 6th, and prior to ending already had two thirds of the required signatures needed.

Marijuana Decriminalized in Mississippi
Mississippi is now one of 23 states that have officially decriminalized personal possession of cannabis.
If you are caught with 30 grams or less, first time offenders are punishable by paying a fine of $250 and slapped with a summons, instead of being arrested or put in jail.
This is also dependent on the accused to offer identification and appear in court.
Hopefully, in the near future, Mississippi can incorporate their own regulations to end prohibition on marijuana for good.
